Temple of Artemis

The foundations of the temple have survived (590-580 BC) with part of the retaining wall of the shrine and the ancient altar. The famed archaic gorgon pediment on display in the Archaeological Museum of Corfu comes from this temple and is the oldest stone pediment identified to date in Greece.
